Miva Merchant 4 Module FAQs » Gift Certificate Manager (BROK_CERTIFICATES)
The module is now capable of automatically delivering emails to the recipient (as collected in the "foremail" attribute) and/or the shipping email address.
To prompt the customer as to whether or not they want to send these two emails, add checkbox attributes to the gift certificate product with the codes:
sendrecip
sendship
If the module finds an attribute with the code "sendrecip" it will send an email to the recipient email address as collected by the foremail attribute (i.e. the attribute with the attribute code "foremail"). If the module finds an attribute with the code "sendship", it will send the email to the shipping email address as collected at checkout.
In either case, an attribute template cannot used. As with the other attributes used to collect data for the module, the attributes have to be added directly to the product rather than with an attribute template.
The emails will be sent ONLY if the order is completed and the payment method used was one of those configured to "generate keys automatically" (on the Options tab).
Just as an example, in my testing, I used an attribute prompt for the "sendrecip" such as "Send email to recipient after order is completed?" You might also want to explain to the customer when the email will be sent and if it is conditional based upon the payment method used.
