I know it's possible to set a default status but is it possible to set the default tracking type for new orders?
(2004/01/18)Yes, you can do this with the new feature which lets you collect data at checkout. There is a token which you can use to display a hidden field to set the default tracking type:
%trackingtype|default|%
For example, to set the tracking type of new orders to "UPS" you would add the token:
%trackingtype|UPS|%
If you change the contents of the "Note prompt template" to contain only the token %trackingtype|default|% then the customer will see nothing at checkout but the hidden field will be used to set the default tracking.
